What are the Duties of a Hospitality Leader in the Church?
A hospitality leader in Church has the most intense job descriptions as he is the one who has to ensure each guest who is visiting is treated well. The duties start before any event and go on even after the event ends.
Just like an
organizer of an event, a hospitality leader has to deal with multiple
operations at the same time. Usually, a church hires an experienced church
hospitality coordinator for this job so that they can’t fail their church
hospitality plans.
Following
are a few of the duties that a hospitality leader is responsible for.
Having a Trained Team
The most
important task is to have a Church hospitality team that is efficient, experienced,
and well-trained. It is the job of a hospitality leader to recruit members and
volunteers who are well-versed with the concept of church hospitality.
Hospitality
leaders train their teams so that they can deal with all the duties assigned to
them. One of the important factors of a church hospitality ministry is that
each member must have extraordinary communication skills. Mostly, extroverts
are preferred in this ministry because hospitality duties revolve around
meeting new people, greeting them, and initiating a kind conversation.
Assigning tasks and duties
A hospitality
leader designs a hospitality strategy for each event. There are different
operations and tasks for each member and the team goes through rehearsal and
training before any event. It is important that everyone is made responsible
for the task assigned to them and everyone is doing it as well. Things may go
bad when any of the tasks are missed leaving a bad reputation for the church.

Welcome Centre Operations
In any event
and Sunday Prayer, the welcome center plays a vital role in creating a
connection with the guests. A church hospitality leader ensures that the
welcome center is nicely built, the guests are visiting it, the team is able to
gain necessary information and the guests are receiving their gifts.
A team is
also assigned to ensure each guest visits the welcome center which is a tough
job because you have to do this duty in a way that the guest doesn’t feel
uncomfortable and visits naturally.

Making Guests Familiar
A
hospitality leader also ensures that each newcomer is feeling comfortable at the
church as this is his first visit. He also makes the guest familiar to others
by introducing them to the church ministry, pastor, and other guests of his
age. You have to assess quickly what kind of person your guest is so that you
can make him meet with someone his interest. It is important that your guest
creates a connection with someone as friends visit church together more often
than someone who wants to visit alone.
