How can we Contribute to the Unity of the church?

Ever wondered why churches always focus on unity? Well, the answer is very simple, if you can’t be united at one bigger perspective, there is no point in all the operations happening at your church. The important aspect of church unity is that you believe in the power of God and you have faith in Him.

Unity does not mean you have to agree upon everything. It also doesn’t mean that you have to accept everything that comes your way. Unity means you are all one strong community even if you have a difference in opinion on faith and God.

It is important that each of you play a vital role in contributing towards unity but how can you do that?

Difference of Opinion

Thousands of people are there in a church community. It is obvious that each one of us will have a different perspective and approach when it comes to the message of Jesus. The important thing is to accept the difference of opinion. Not everyone thinks as you do, not everyone is on the same level of faith as you are so give them space and learn to accept the difference of opinion.

Remember Why You Joined The Church

When you start having odd thoughts, you have to remind yourself why you started the church in the first place. Is it connecting to God or the concept that everything comes to the line when you visit it? What is it? Figure it out and then it will become to stay united no matter what life brings at you.

Kindness Above Anything

Kindness and empathy are two things that play a huge role in church unity. Do you want to show you are united? Practice kindness at each level. Be humble and put yourself in others’ shoes to understand what they are going through. It will become easier to understand them and you will get along.

Believe in The Best of Others

Even if you have differences, always believe that there is always best in others. Nobody is bad. We all act certainly because we have been through a bad situation around bad influence and bad timing. We all have good in us and that’s what makes us united no matter what.

Resolve Your Conflicts

Conflicts happen. We are humans and it is normal to have a conflict as a community. The important thing is you know how to resolve a conflict. Are you taking that conflict seriously and making it a matter of your ego? Have you started someone hating just because he has a different approach? What can you do to settle down things as adults? Once, you figure out these questions, it becomes easier to resolve a conflict. The best way to do that is to talk. Communication is a key to fixing things and that’s a fact.

You are the one who is going to build or ruin the church unity. It depends on you how you can strengthen your church’s unity and think of things in a bigger picture. Small things can always be ignored and even if they can’t adults are supposed to work things out.
